Snow in Germany! To early! Buuuu!

I have no idea about what is going on in Hamburg. Events on every corner. Yesterday we first joined the Family and Friends Sale with drinks, music and fingerfood at “American Apparel“. And of course we where too late for the “Myspace Secret Show” of the “Ting Tings“. Five minutes before the show started we arrived…. The location was totally packed and we were just happy to get in. Why choose the easy way if you can have a exiting way to get in. ;) The show was quite nice and they played a lot of the new songs. I like that the new sound in general is full of 80′s sounds and a bit more grown up. More photos after the jump.

Nope, we are not turning our blog into a music related blog. ;) But Hamburg is known for a really good music scene and at the moment there are a lot of good concerts. Perhaps the team around “Pop Mondial” and “Death by Pop” got something to do with that. They influence the whole city with their good taste and golden finger for bookings. Last week “Theophilus London” this week “Kele Okereke” known from “Bloc Party” and on saturday emo rapper “Casper“. If you don’t wanna miss a good event, you should definitely bookmark their dates page.

I needed a sleeve for my new Macbook and usually my choice would have been another Incase Neoprene Sleeve like I got for my Macbook Pro. Unfortunately there are none in the size 11inch yet so I had to start diggin’ or wait until Incase comes up with something. Of course I couldn’t wait so I searched the web end ended up at Etsy that I usually connect with girl-stuff. But here I found a few handmade versions of sleeves and ended up buying this one by Pack & Smooch, a guy that happens to live in Hamburg as well. It just fits the adapters I need and feels well worth the money. Love it!

A really unusual perspective on Afghanistan. Check the website for more about Skateistan. Makes me miss ridin’ my board.

The new Monocle issue arrived just yesterday and hell yeah, it is well worth the money. As a matter of fact this is one of the only few print magazines that I still find worth reading. For those who are new to this magazine: It features a global perspective on politics, business, culture and design. Besides the perspective of the content in general, I really like the photos and illustrations. The Monocle website is worth checking out as well.

“Theophilus London” had a concert in Hamburg yesterday. We felt like grandmother and granddaddy because at the beginning we had a really funny place to sit. A table with two chairs in the middle of the room. It was in a nice location we hadn’t been to before, the legendary music club Indra. The concert itself was better then we expected. We both like the sound and we felt like being at Brooklyn Bowl for one hour. Thank you for a nice evening.
PS: I hate wordpress and flickr for reducing the picture qulity automatically! That totaly sucks. More photos after the jump.

Overcrowed like hell was the Mädchenflohmart (Girlsfleamarket) at the Haus73 today. Didn’t matter, everyone seems to had a good time. I found some nice items for the next shootings. If you hurry up, you might have a chance to get something. It’s still open.

It’s not really often that I stumble upon clothes that I like. The stuff by Seattle based Maiden Noir is really nice though. Love the style and especially the jacket. Unfortunately I could not find the brand in any european online store, so please shout if they are available anywhere.

As I retouched the pictures, I couldn’t decide if I like them in color or black and white. So I divided them in two parts. Part III of the shooting with “Anna-Maria of the Special“.

Part II of the shooting with “Anna-Maria of the Special“. I really like them…. and they are in black and white. Not that normal for me.

We both were a bit surprised when we entered the vernissage of Stefan Strumbel & Rüdiger Glatz at the Vicious Gallery yesterday. Both are kown for urban- and graffiti-art but as you can see, no urban art. ;) Perhaps St.Pauli red light district urban art …
A bit sad because I liked the photos of ruedione – Rüdiger Glatz.
It was nice to see that many people from others city came to see the vernissage. Meeting a few old friends unexpectedly was nice.
Mal sehen wie schnell die Musxxxi und Pimxxx Bilder gelöscht werden ;) More photos after the jump.

The danish brand “Wood Wood” which is know for clean and smart design, openend up it’s pop up store in collaboration with YBDPT in Hamburg yesterday. The double denim line is simple, clean and available in different washings. The ladies denim looks great and is definitely worth to try on. It comes in a stretchy high waist slim fit. The men’s version is a classic denim with focus on the silhouettes and basic details of a denim. All the people that you usually never see on the road in Hamburg showed up. Nice event & free drinks. Hamburg we need more of those happenings!

Since a longer time we wanted to shoot with “Anna-Maria of The Special” but the time was our biggest enemy. BUT YEAH, we made it last weekend and we liked working with her.

Yesterday on a Pressevent in Hamburg, “H&M” presented every single item of the designers collection of “Lanvin” will be released on november, 23rd. When I saw it coming, I fell totally in love with the coat! But I was also a bit surprised about the dresses. They are gorgeous, with a lot of details like the inside out sewing. I didn’t liked the inside out details for the Sonja Rykiel collection though, but these are at the right positions and in a good quality and never tooo much. Overall, one attribute that you remark whole collection: good quality and nice fabrics. Even the smallest details are well produced. I would say, there was one item everybody loved in the room: the sunis ;) I prefer the male version, it’s harder and more edgy.
We had a really nice evening with some other germany bloggers like: Schnati & Jessie of Les Mads, Katha of I love Ponys Mag, Lisa of Lalila and Annika & Camilla of “Allet ohne Schminke“. Overall it was a great evening with some nice designer garments and a lot of great people.

Sorry for posting so many pictures of this shooting with Leslie, but we there is such a huge bunch of good photos and it would be too sad if they would stay on my harddrive.

It’s not: “I stole my sister’s boyfriend. It was all whirlwind, heat, and flash. Within a week we killed my parents and hit the road…” (Sonic Youth)
Today it’s actually more like: I stole my boysfriends hat. It was all cosy, heat, and flash. ;) The best thing to wear for a sunday’s walk with the dog. More photos after the jump.

Here we go, the next part with Leslie.

We love shooting with Leslie, so we asked her again if she wanted join us. She is always on time, ambitious, funny and nice to hang around with. Sometimes people are wondering who does what, when we are shooting. I, Sevda, do the styling, hair and make-up and take the pictures. Philipp does the technique stuff, light and helps with his good taste. When it comes to concert-pictures, he is the man.
So this one was teamwork of Philipp, Leslie and me.

Not really around the corner, but not that far from us either one of the most important galleries in Hamburg is has their room. “Heliumcowboys” is showing stuff from “Jo Fischer” at the moment, a photographer who is influenced by Rock’n'Roll and urban life in general. He has a really good eye for transferring emotions and capturing them in his really nice photographies.

Sorry, no time for blogging anything else then some picture of the last days. Busy with work and redesigning my new portfolio. But I’m almost ready, so the next days blogging will continue as usual.

More and more small galleries and exibitions are popping up in Hamburg. Just around our corner more than 6 galleries opened the last 2 years. Here are some nice examples how nice Hamburg is growing.
The first pictures were taken at the “Yeahboy” exibition of the french photographer “Yves Drillet” and the secound pitures are at the “Raum linksrechts“. An artist from Cologne called “leBeat-André Kniepkamp” is showing his stuff.

A little art and illustration for Hamburg. Yesterday the “Pictoplasma Conference” made a stop in Hamburg with a lot of speakers and some movies to bring us closer to character-design. With lectures and presentations from different artists like “Siggi Eggertsson” known for the Gnarls Barkley Cover, “Rilla Alexander of Rinzen” who just finished her first book and superhero “Akinori Oishi” from Japan, who was funny as hell. We got a nice overview of the scence at the moment. They are going on tour and you should really visit if it’s in your area. They will be in Munic, Dundee, NYC and Düsseldorf.

Our Stockholm neighbor MonkeyBizz just released some really nice t-shirts and sweaters. Love the graphics. Be sure to check out the shop for brands like God’s Prey, Flying Coffin, Actual Pain and more.

Part III of Leslie in this amazing “Acne” silk dress. Since a while I’m thinking about buying it.
