New Balance is a brand that has been doing some great work over the last years, which definitely is not an easy job with a competitor like Nike. But they have found their own special approach and I really like their latest US campaign “Where are you running to?“. It’s all about putting your product into the right context. If you do it the right way, you got something to say and got all you need for building legitimate relations with fans and customers. But not only from a strategic point of view is this video a blast. Besides being a big fan of Rich Medina’s work, I love the visual approach in this video as well. Nice one, NB!

London based The Vaccines just came up with a nice idea to promote their new album and at the same time involve their fans. They started the Vaccines Video Project in collaboration with Instagram, a really popular photo app for the iPhone. To be part of the video, all you have to do is take a festival photo with the app and tag it #VACCINESVIDEO and hope for the director to choose your photo. I really like the idea. It is simple, uses a really popular service including its authenticity and brings band and fans closer together. I hate the word, but this is definitely a “win win situation”! ;-)

Ever since I started skateboarding in the early 90′s I have been a big fan of all kind of t-shirts, collected a few & worn out many. They symbolize happenings. They are like postcards you bring to keep up the spirit of certain times, are symbols for what you stand for. This upcoming documentary seems to put all the different aspects of the cult in a great frame, showing the diversity (of cultures) it is made of. More info on the Canal+ page.

Another project coming from the guys that brought you “Influencers“, The Pursuit of (Cool). A great perspective on what makes a personality, how it has changed over time and where it could head. I just love the visuals and sound. But most important of all, the message: “Life is about the stories you can tell.” Remember that.

Warning. The following content could be a bit geeky for some of you. Nonetheless, I really want to share this latest project with you. Using the WebGL standard, a Google supported team of creatives developed this interactive music video for ROME. ROME, consisting of Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi also features Jack White & Norah Jones in this track. You can either fly through the standard video, create your own dream or browse though others dreams. For those of you interested in more possibilities of WebGL, check out the Chrome Experiments showing what a modern browser can do. Beautiful music, awesome technology & simply a great initiative from Google.

For those interested in the term and what’s behind, I suggest you take a look at the chillwave wikipedia entry. I prefer to look at music a bit more simplistic, either I feel it or don’t. I just love the soundscapes and visual approach. Big up! And by the way… If you’re in Hamburg and like what you just heard, be sure you don’t miss his set tonight at Grüner Jäger.

By now most of y’all have probably heard of Tyler the Creator, member of the Wolf-Gang. Nowadays most of the rap stuff is just lame and without a soul and voice, just a copy of some weird image. This stuff though brings back some punk rock and hardcore to the scene. Have a look for your self after the jump.

The idea of going to more concerts of bands that we don’t know totally works out. Yesterday “Jeff the Brotherhood” played at “Popmondial” and it was really nice to go there. In a great atmosphere the band from NASHVILLE, Tennessee played a great set. To me, it sounds a bit like “Pavement” who I totally like. So no wonder that this band surprised me. Go to their concerts if they are around. They are on tour in Europe, so catch them if you can. Dates and more pictures after the jump.

Engineered Garments, a nice label that I discovered via Hypebeast a while ago. Usually I’m not really into suits and stuff but the combination of the urban backyard location, choice of model and styling just made me change my attitude towards suits. Simple, plain and classic but still kind of edgy.

No, winter in Hamburg is not fancy! We were out for a walk with “Katha” and Marcel. I rather like it cold and a lot of snow than warm and not raining. But that’s not the Hamburg winter. Nope! We have got ice and wet snow. It is was nice to go out anyway. It makes you appreciate being inside on a sofa… ;-) More pictures after the jump.

During the stress about our new design, we totally forgot the blog birthday. I can’t believe it. The blog is really 2 years old now. We started with some pictures and graphics, just stuff that influences our daily life. It’s still like that but in a more worked out way, I would say. Our blog is still our private playground where we do and write about stuff that we honestly like. The last few months we did a lot of shootings for our blog on a really “low end” level. But it was fun to do it and we hopefully will be able to continue doing this the upcoming months. It’s a lot of work and we hope that you like it. We recently observed that a lot of blogs that started about the same time as we did are disappearing from the scene. I totally understand it since we often ask ourselves “why do we blog? is it really worth it? does someone really read the texts?,…..?” We are both online people by heart and we do believe in the future of it. So let’s step into the next year of blogging. Thank you for following and sharing your love with us.

I have been looking for a nice bag to replace my bagpack when visting clients. Feels kind of wrong taking the backpack-style to meetings. ;-) There are a few nice messenger-bags like the ones from Incase and Alkr out there, but somehow I need something more “classic”. The first months in Hamburg where really stressful because we had to work and build up our life in Hamburg again. It’s was an unspectular summer. The weather became bad quickly. We had no barbeque, no camping, no seaside time. Really bad! The good point was we were able to do some amazing shootings. We are a bit surprised by the early snow this year. Since november we have snow in Germany. Hihi, that was one of the reasons we moved back from Stockholm back to Hamburg -to get rid of all that snow. That’s not fair. But ok, then we had some more time for indoor events like gallery events and concerts. We totaly forgot to do some videos. Such a shame! A good friend of us said, she is starting the next year with no big plan like moving to another city or starting something new. I feel a bit the same. Perhaps that’s the new Generation X feeling. But may be not really since I’m always hoping for the best and that’s not typical for the new grunge! ;) So let’s go with huge steps into the new year and let’s see what the new year will bring us. We are ready for it!

Back in Stockholm, summer started from one to the next moment. We were hanging around in the park in front of your house drinking way to expensive beer. I was working a lot but it was fun, because we had a great time at the shootings. In summer, this city is completly like another city. Everybody is relaxed and just wants to have a good time. Philipp finished his Interactive Communication Diploma at Berghs School of Communication. So good that he walked this way! I was still working a lot but in our spare time we were glad to be in this so beautiful country and we had some wonderful summerdays. We spend a lot of time with our friends. We also started to do our shootings for the blog. In the end, I don’t understand this decision no more, but we hired an appartment back in Hamburg. I was shocked in the first weeks. ;) Everything was different and we had to learn “the german way” again. It was great to see all the other bloggers from Hamburg at a Bloggermeeting. While I had some bad time in my new job, we did some great shootings for the blog. Ach ja, Anna and I met Alice Dellal. ;)

We had a really crazy year this year. If I’m looking back it was one of the wildest in my life. Because so much happend we splitted the 2010 overview in three parts. Here we go with the first 4 months. Let’s start with the most important things in these months. We moved the 3rd time in Stockholm into one of our favorite areas in Stockholm, Södermalm. On a little hill we found our new home and we certainly loved it. In Feburary we were at the Stockholm Fashion Week. It’s a pretty small Fashion Week but with some amazing brands like Minimarket, Acne, Odeur, Cheap Monday, ….I totaly fell in love with the Minimarket shoes and I still have an eye on them. Winter was hard and dark. I can’t remember a day without freezing. ;) So we decided to fly to L.A. What a amazing city. I really want to live there! The whole way of life is totaly what I’m looking for. It was completely different then all the clichees that you have in mind when you are thinking about L.A. L.A. I’m coming back. In the beginning of march, as we were in L.A. my job asked me, if I could go to NYC, because the location of a shooting was changed. Yes of course, I could go to New York! That wasn’t my first time there, so I know some good places to go. It’s allways nice to be there and I had a great time. I got to spend some extra days there because of the volcano. ;) But of course we also did spend some days back in good old Hamburg.

It wouldn’t be me if I wouldn’t have some pictures left ;) Gorgeous Leslie!

I like behind the scenes pictures since they show nothing but the truth. The truth is that Leslie is a non-smoker and Nikita is a camera b*tch, who wants to sit in the front of the camera all the time and we are really just to persons who are deal with just about everything. ;) But hell yeah, we always have a lot of fun. That’s the reason we put up with this hustle everytime. ;)
