Crazy how often people stopped me yesterday because of the dress. Seems to hit the american taste at it’s edge. I’m more hyped about my shoes of course. ;)

Some random streetstyle impressions in front of the NYC Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center. A fun little fact on the side: During fashion week in Stockholm and Berlin everyone knows that there is something big going on in town and branding everywhere. In New York no one knows, not even just around the corner. That’s definitely a sign for a lively city. ;-)

I have become a huge fan of Cheap Monday again. For a while I thought it’s kind of boring but this season the brand catches me again. I just love the shoes and pullover.

Right after breakfast in Williamsburg we bumbed into “the Cobrasnake“. I’m a huge fan of his work and to me he is one of the persons who influcened a whole new photography scene. I love his works and eye for a different kind of aesthetic.

NYC and 30°C. But I don’t want to complain, could be worse. ;)

Here come the first random impressions of New York. From our bed we have a beautiful view on the Empire State Building. Whole Foods Market has been our main lunch place and we just love it! Since this is my fist time in New York, we’ll have to check out some more tourist stops and see where the towns best burgers are located. Any tips are welcome!

I love the area were we are staying. It’s called Greenpoint and it’s next to Williamsburg. The main difference to Williamsburg is that you still find those edgy streets and harbour industry which is almost gone in Williamsburg. Greenpoint is a bit more relaxed and still in polish hands like Williamsburg used to be.

We arrived in NYC just one day before the 10th anniversary of 9/11, so of course we went downtown to get a feeling of the ceremony. The impressions were amazing and the emotional level really high. But still, I would like to quote a saying that has been making its rounds on various social networks: “R.I.P. The 2976 American people that lost their lives on 9/11 and R.I.P. the 48,644 Afghan and 1,690,903 Iraqi people that paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit.”

After the worst summer in history we really need some holiday. Instead of a holiday at the beachside, we decided to go to NYC. It’s almost the same. ;)
We found a really fun place to stay and we can’t wait to see it.
It was more of an accident but the New York Fashion Week is held during our stay in the city.
So if you have any party recommendations, concerts that we need to see or gallery openings, please let us know.
Of course we will keep on updating you. See the last pictures form the states here on the blog.

Now it is official. We tested a new camera for “Leica“. It is called “Leica V-Lux 20“. She has an integrated GPS function, which is a really nice feature. As you can see on the “microsite” she records the exact position of where we took those pictures. It is kind of funny. If we just changed the side of the street and you could afterwards see it on the map. If you zoom in the map, you will see it. That way you will be able to get the adresses of most of the stores that we visited. Small and nice camera. I took all the pictures from NYC with her. Does that answer your questions about the camera, “Fenke“? ;) More after the jump.

Ok, I’m hooked now. I never really liked Marc by Marc Jacobs. I don’t know why. For me it was this strange upperclass NYC Streetstyle Brand. The last days I passed the store at Bleecker Street a few times. My colleague was so hot about going there, so we went in. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Sometimes when I go in stores, especially streetwear-shops, I don’t feel really comfortable. The people that work in those store making feel bad somehow. A bit like: “You!? No you are not cool enough to wear something like this.” At the Marc by Marc Jacobs Store it was so the oposite and kind of hipster alert. ;) Funny, normally I would never have tried anything on, but there it was no problem. I’m so totally broke so I just bought a ring and a necklace. If I could, I would buy more. ;) What I also like is 25% of the money that they make in the store goes straight to a foundation called “Creativegrowth“, an art center that takes care for people with mental and physical disabilities. LIKE!!!! More after the jump.

It happend really fast. Someone called me and said that I have a flight in 3 hours. So I ran to my hotel, packed my stuff and drove to the airport. On my way I crossed “Carrie’s house”. :) I had a nice time, with nice people in one of the most amazing cities on earth. I will miss it. More after the jump.

I hope you are not so bored from all those pictures, because I’m lost in NYC. No way to fly back. So you gonna see a lot of pictures the next days ;) More photos after the jump.

I thought it would be exciting to see “OAK” that is just a few houses away from where I work as well as “Urban Outfitters“. And yes it was and of course I found something. But then something else happened. I was sitting at the set in an appartment and saw some really amazing shoes. Of course I looked at the shoes first but as I was staring for a while and then looked up, I saw straight into the face of Sarah Jessica Parker. I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. We were all in shock. Wenn das man nicht ein NYC-Erlebnis ist. Mehr NYC geht nicht, oder!? ;-) More photos after the jump.

It so good to be in NYC. The weather is nice and everyone is sooo friendly. Crazy situation with the volcano in Iceland. We passed it on the way here. I saw a nice movie, you need to see it. It’s called “Lovely Bones”. More photos after the jump.

…are going workwise to NYC tomorrow! Do you remember them? They were a “Today’s Favorite“. Anyway, so nice to go to NYC. Thank you Patrice to make this happen! I know that you are reading this right now. ;) If you all got some nice events that I should join or hot shops that I should visit, let me know. It would be nice to hear something from you. It’s been a while since I was in New York the last time…
