Let me introduce “This is Paper” to you. I discovered it yesterday while doing some research. I like it so much because it’s all about perfection. Every single post is really well chosen, representing great design and the site itself looks great. The sections of fashion, publishing, interior, art and architecture are in awesome balance. “This is Paper” in my eyes is such a pearl in the wold wide web.
I just received a package from the T-Post Magazine this morning. I really love the concept of subscribing to a t-shirt. The newspaper aspect is printed on the inside and the front-print features a different designer every month. Mine is from December 09 and designed by Jessica Eriksson. This one not really being my taste, but I guess that’s part of the game and makes it interesting. You never know what you gonna get. A really love the other designs. A nice alternative/addition to many overpriced brand tees!

Before I started to blog myself, I was totaly fascinated by those user generated content platforms like “Lookbook“, “Chictopia” and “I like my stlye“. I was a kind of paralized because of all those nice pictures. Yeah of course, nowadays it’s quite common to see a lot of nice pictures. I am pretty sure a lot of people have been influenced by those platforms. I’m still a huge fan of it and can scroll and click hours through the tons of pictures. You see the newest trends in a raw, edgy and authentic way. Perhaps the whole hipster movement was born here. ;) I think it’s quite nice that one of these platforms is being released as a print magazine. “I like my style” gives a few pictures the chance to stand out and “live” a bit longer than the next 10 minutes before 1000 of other users uploaded their pictures. Call me old fashioned but I still love buying magazines in a printed version.
I’m a bit surprised about how much is going on in Hamburg at the moment. On friday 10.12.2010 there will be a closing party for the “Pop-Up Magazine Store“, a project of the “Art-Lawyer“. It’s defintely something for magazine lovers! They are selling independent magazines from all over the world. Nice to have the opportunity to see some more magazines than the normal range at the international magazine stores. If you haven’t been there yet, friday will be your last chance.

Yesterday for the lauch of the 2nd edition of the iPad Magazine of the “Iconist” the team invited to a little meet and greet in the Hamburg harbour. The “Iconist” belongs to one of the biggest publishers in Germany, Axel Springer. So of course I was courious to see what they are working on. It was all about an electronic version of the Icon which is the inlay style magazine of the WELT am SONNTAG. I like the idea of an iPad magazine. If you travel a lot, you always see the Kindle or the iPad. People are using those eletronic devices and usage grows day by day. That’s no rumor no more. In Germany you don’t see it that often yet which is a bit sad though. It’s really positive that a big pubisher like Axel Springer is doing an iPad mag. I like the content and layout. It’s nice to see that someone is trying to work something out. It’s a really young medium, so it’s still in it’s first steps but I have to say that I did expect a bit more digital content like video and various…
The new Monocle issue arrived just yesterday and hell yeah, it is well worth the money. As a matter of fact this is one of the only few print magazines that I still find worth reading. For those who are new to this magazine: It features a global perspective on politics, business, culture and design. Besides the perspective of the content in general, I really like the photos and illustrations. The Monocle website is worth checking out as well.

If you ask me, “Converse” is one of THE brands that always cut the edge with their campaigns! Straight on point, edgy, remarkable and always with the best artists and musicians.
Everyone of us knows the campain with M.I.A, Pharrell,….. The new stuff is nice aswell. Have a look at the video.
I think it has got something to do with their way of simplicity and how they understanding their brand and the surrounding of it. A good idea and good materials, that’s it. And that’s absolutely enough. That’s for shure is the reason why shoes like “Chucks” forever will be everybodys darling. I’m really a huge fan of the whole “Converse” thing. ;)
The Reeperbahn-Festival takes place this weekend in Hamburg about 10 meters away from our front-door. There will be this nice event on Spielbudenplatz that reminds me a bit of “La Boom”. Do you remember the scene where they dance with headphones on? On the “Stille Nacht” you’ll be getting headphones on and two DJs will battle on stage. I think it’ll be fun to see the dance-styles without some headphones on. ;) The best part of…
“Anna” and I were at the “Monki Magazine Party“. But where was the party? Sometimes it matters more with who you are, instead where you are. ;) We had a good time anyway. But next time Monki, please give your guests something to drink like in Stockholm, ok!?
It was king of strange. One house next to my old appartment where I lived 6 years was this nice unexplored off-location.
Crazy, I never saw it before. We were suprise about the party people. It was not as “Hamburg-Like” as we know it. If you have the possiblity to join a “Nude Paper Release“, go for it. We had a nice evening.

A couple of days ago I found this nice “Do it Yourself – Tutorial” on the Nylon website. No comments. :) I need to try it! The dress is blowing me away….
Super woman Chloe Sevigny good looking as always on the ELLE UK Cover in April. That we all love her is no secret no more. No wonder that we love her so much when you see how sympathetic she is in the “Behind the Cover Video“. So cool to see that she is still doing it her way after so many years working in this business. HUT AB!
Oh wow I love Make Up Magazines. Normaly it’s really not my style, because it’s too glossy. BUT Make Up Companies have always so nice product pictures. They always think about something new and using the whole color palette. Check out the “Make Up Store Magazine“, it also have some nice Make Up Tipps ;)
Since I’m working now I’m not the fastest on the news ;) So “T-Post” is not a news no more but a news worth. It’s nearly a month ago as I got an email that the leatest T-Shirt Magazine from “T-Post” is out. It’s a magazine with a shirt and it’s working as an abo. It’s coming out on every six weeks, so the new one is almost ready. I like the idea and vision of it.
