CTRL Lookbook SS2011

I introduced the finish brand “CTRL” a few times now so I hope I don’t need to write so much about them anymore. ;) The latest lookbook was shot in NYC. A bit strange that it was shot in winter, you totally see it but it’s supposed to be a spring/summer collection lookbook. Anyway, the galaxy stuff is gorgeous.

Weekday Lookbook SS2011

Wow, this “Weekday Lookbook” hits the edge. Great shape, nice colors and the styling is awesome. The dipped haircolor is smiling at me. I’m just wondering if it looks great only on tall, skinny girls. But that’s a reason to go to the store and to try it out. The shoes are such a must. I’m still considering if grey or white.

Upper Left Arm A/W 2011

Sometimes when I see nice well produced lookbooks and campain pictures like the ones of Prada, Chanel and Celine I totaly like them but I don’t see myself in them. I love what those labels are doing but they are not me and how I dress myself. Sometimes I see lookbooks and I’m thinking, yeah everything straight in my closet please. When I saw the lookbook of “Upper Left Arm A/W 2011” that was exactly what happened to me. I love every single style and it’s so me. ;)

Atreebutes Lookbook SS 2011 & AW 2011

What Switzerland usually stand for is the alpes, chocolate and good design. Ok I couldn’t find chocolate in the lookbooks of “Atreebutes” but some really good design though. About three years ago the two pro-snowboarders Nicolas Müller (Nike) and Frederik Kalbermatten (Burton) decided to develop a brand that is more than just clothes. One of their main goals was to combine great design, love for details, nice fabrics and sustainability.

In their opinon sustainability contains more than just ecological standards and a healthy environment. It’s also about awareness and appreciation of what you do and what you buy. I’d like quote from their website: “We put a lot of effort into the workmanship of our clothes to make our stuff last longer. The equation is simple: if you buy a good t-shirt that lasts twice as long as a bad one, you only have to shop half as often and throw away 50% less.”

Great philosophy and I think you really see it in each and every single item. Read more about it online on their website.

Osborn Lookbook SS 2011

I never wrote about “Osborn“. Shame on me, because it’s really something that fits perfectly to me: individual shoe designs, unique and handmade. Osborns is not just a nice shoe label, they also work sweatshop free! The artistic way of presenting their stuff is just awesome! Kind of urban folk mixed with great ideas and well worked out designs. LIKE!

Sessun Lookbook SS 2011

Sessùn” is one of the french brands I’ve been following for a while now. With their beautiful images they are outstanding and represent this typical french fenimin style. But in a stunning rough way. Focusing on using a mix of details and textures the new collection reminds me of the 60′s and 70′s. I totally love the yellow pants and floral pattern stuff. Hits the edge!

Urban Outfitters Pressday Hamburg

On friday, “Urban Outfitters” invited a few german bloggers for a press day at the store in Hamburg to review the new Pins & Needles and Sparkle & Fade collections. Both are inhouse brands. With Sparkle & Fade they are covering the oversized and a bit rougher look-a-like section. With Pins & Needles a bit more heritage but femini corner, because of the really pale color range and the floral pattern. I had a funny time with Sarah & Nike and Katja during our time in the store. My favorite item wasn’t avaible jet. It was the striped zebra dress of a lookbook picture. It’s “Coop Designs” that Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann founded in 2007. Both graduated Central St Martins and are available pretty soon in the designer corner at “UO“. They are designing pretty and unusual knit stuff. So the designers corner with Acne, Carin Wester, Stine Goya and many other designers will be updated with the next newcomer. Good news for the people of Frankfurt: In summer an UO will open there. “Bad news” for the Berlin people. 2 stores will open, but you’ll have to wait until january 2012.

H&M SS 2011 Preview

I can’t wait for spring nomore. Yesterday as the SS2011 preview of “H&M” I was pretty excited and hyped. Now it is for sure, offical and no rumor no more! The summer colors are bright, shiny and we’ll see a lot of really propper cuts. I’m also happy about the wide range of swim wear. Sommer, jetzt musst du nur noch kommen! Wir warten schon!

Lifetime Collective SS & FW 2011

I will have to admit that my first contact with Lifetime Collective from Canada was at the Bright Tradeshow in Berlin this January. While almost all so called “streetwear brands” do not really differentiate, Lifetime Collective stood out among the other brands. Definitely targeting a more mature audience, they deliver a nice urban heritage style for both women and men within a huge collection. Dope stuff!

Stine Goya X Weekday

It seemed like everyone was waiting like hell for the first pictures of the “Stine Goya X Weekday Colabo“. Now that they are out, I’m a bit disappointed. Perhaps disappointed is not the right expression. Let’s say it in german: Das haut mich ja nicht richtig vom Hocker. Of course the colors are nice, the typical Stine Goya and Weekday colors, the Stine Goya Zippers. But everything looks a little bit like a pyjamas to me. Espeacialy the pants. ;) I don’t know, a bit too see trough, one looks like a tight ski trousers and a top that reminds me of my old sleeping top. But we will see, I think I’ll give the pattern combos a try. You can’t see them that well. Hopefully they are nice.

Freepeople Catalog

Freepeople, which belongs to the Urbn Group like Urban Outfitter or Anthropologie surprised me with this nice catalog today. Lovley pictures and a nice video. But see for yourself. For a while they have been posting small bits and pieces in their own blog. By the way, the blog is one of the best retailer blogs in my opinion. It is reflecting a really good image of the brands. Thumbs up! More pictures and video after the jump.

Won Hundred Lookbook SS2011

When I think about fashion from Denmark, a lot of brands go through my head. Design and creative fashion like Henrik Vibskov, Stine Goya, Soulland and a few other names. I don’t know why, but I always tend to forget “Won Hundred“. Shame on me because there is no reason for it like you can see in the lookbook for SS 2011. I love the shoes of course and so typical scandinavian clean cuts.

Wildfox White Label Collection

A month ago, Wildfox showed us some nice picuters from their lookbook for Spring 2011. Now they come with some great garment for the “White Label Collection“. Since last summer, I have been totally hypnotized by long dresses. They are really easy to wear and it always looks really dressed. This summer I think it will be the same pleasure for me to wear long dresses like those. But of course there are more stlyes than just long dresses in the new collection. Have a look on the Wildfox website. More long dresses after the jump.

Engineered Garments

Engineered Garments, a nice label that I discovered via Hypebeast a while ago. Usually I’m not really into suits and stuff but the combination of the urban backyard location, choice of model and styling just made me change my attitude towards suits. Simple, plain and classic but still kind of edgy.

Urban Outfitters Catalog Preview

It’s really obvious and no secret that I’m a huge fan of the Urban Outfitters aesthetic. Normaly I’m really waiting for new catalogs and pictures, but this time I’m a bit disappointed. Of course those pictures are great pictures but the point of difference is missing. To me the light and the posing and angles are totaly American Apparel like. When I look at pictures from all the other retailers I can immediately see who they belong to. That was the reason I loved the UO pictures so much. It’s so important from the first second that you see who it is. But sorry UO, with the preview I’m not really sure if you hit the edge. I will wait until the whole catalog is out and hopefully you will surprise me. More pictures after the jump.

Atsuro Tayama AW10 / SS11

I’m such a lookbook nerd. Whenever I see a great lookbook or a gorgeous video I’m getting so happy. Today I have to thank “Atsuro Tayama” for this dramatic moment. An avant-garde and sophisticated look from a Japanese designer that lives in Paris. Lovley combination! You can see how both country influences the garments. The avant-garde from Japan and the sophisticated elegance from Paris. It’s just beautiful. More pictures and videos after the jump.

Jeffrey Campbell – White Collection

White is the new camel. I read that in the german Glamour a few days ago. To be honest, that scares me a bit. Do you remember that I wrote that not everyone should wear white shoes, as I saw the the white Jeffrey Campbells in the latest lookbook? Forget that! Jeffrey Campbell is coming with a white collection and in the lookbook you will find some good examples on how to wear it. I totaly adore them! Go for it and wear white shoes! Topshop First Look SS 2011

What do my winter blinded eyes see at “Topshop” this morning? The first preview of the SS2011 collection. Color everywhere! I’m totally in love. A color kick like this in the morning wakes me up and make me hope for an early spring. Especially the hair colors and the moodboard. I’m a bit surprised because it looks so typical 60′s and 70′s american and Topshop is famous for it’s british look. But who cares. ;) Fuck, and we are stuck in the middle of winter. I wanna wear everything of it, right now!!!!

TV AW 2010

It’s almost impossible to think about neon in a good way if you grew up in the 80′s. Everyone had an item in neon. Personally I had a neon yellow raincoat and my best friend a neon pink one. I was allways jealous about her’s because I liked her coat so much more than mine. Nowadays I never thought about wearing neon again until I saw the gougeous collection of “TV“. They are using the colors in a brillant way and it’s like a red line trough the whole collection and you see it almost in every style, even if it is just a little detail. Now I’m starting to think that my yellow raincoat was boring, cause this collection is the shit. ;)
