Last year nearly at the same time, we escaped to L.A. We are so sick of the bad bad gray weather in Hamburg. ;) This year we will do the same to get some sun and lifestyle explosion. So if you have some nice tips of places, concerts, stores or whatever that we need to see, please let us know!!!! We would love to see the places that you like most.
EDIT: Crazy, it’s Oscar time while we are there!

Now it is official. We tested a new camera for “Leica“. It is called “Leica V-Lux 20“. She has an integrated GPS function, which is a really nice feature. As you can see on the “microsite” she records the exact position of where we took those pictures. It is kind of funny. If we just changed the side of the street and you could afterwards see it on the map. If you zoom in the map, you will see it. That way you will be able to get the adresses of most of the stores that we visited. Small and nice camera. I took all the pictures from NYC with her. Does that answer your questions about the camera, “Fenke“? ;) More after the jump.

A while ago, as I posted my new “Jeffrey Campbell Shoes” Jennifer asked for the nailpolish color. It is an “Urban Outfitters Polish“. I’m not really sure if it is one of those of the website, because the bottle looks a bit different. A bit nicer and only $5. The color is called “Orange 5″.

We are proud to announce we are a part of the “Leica Travel Project“. Leica asked us to test one of their cameras and show the results on the “Microsite” or on our blog. They will update the website every day, so you have the chance to see more pictures of our trip there including the exact position on the map. We hope you enjoy it!

I could cry out loud but I won’t ’cause I am strong. Leaving Los Angeles felt really sad and this will definitely not be the last time. Inglewood was our home most of the time and in combination with Venice Beach, it really reminded us a lot of our home in Hamburg, the good old Reeperbahn district. I hope you all enjoyed following us! For those who already gave us their feedback, thanks for all the warm comments! We do appreciate it!

It was fun to take pictures in L.A. Nice locations everywhere. We are back since a few hours and I’m starting to miss it. We had a lot to do on our last day, so I was wearing something more easy to like this nice “Motel Cardigan” and the “Urban Outfitters Jeans“.

I know leo is not everyone’s taste, but I love it! No wonder that I fell in love with those “Jeffrey Campbell” limited editition pixie wedges. A few days ago, I searched the internet for a shop where I can find “Jeffrey Campbell Shoes” in L.A. After a while I gave up. As we walked around, we crossed the “LFStores“. I knew it before like the most of you, because their always so nice lookbooks. Anyway, they have a huge selection of shoes and those are one of my new ones. ;)

Today we survived our first earthquake. That was a kind of scary. First I was wondering why I felt bad from one second to the other, then I looked around and saw that everything was moving around me. Uhhhhh. Strange and nobody said anything because it is so normal in California. I’m wearing my new dress and jacket from “Forever 21“. Philipp hates the combi. ;) To much mixed pattern for him. Thank you all for the nice comments! We hope that you all have some nice easter days. We have a very good time here in LA and are kind of sad to leave it in a few… But there is one thing that we really look forward to, our third family member Nikita! Hell yeah, we miss her a lot!

We are doing nothing special and just hang around the last days. Nice! I’m wearing my new jumper and jacket from Urban Outfitters. It is colder than it looks.

So there we left beautiful LA to get some of that famous Las Vegas flava. We stayed at the Stratosphere that seems to be stuck in the 80′s somehow, but it’s great. A walk down the strip was a bit like walking though the Dom in Hamburg. Crazy stuff! Two days is enough though, so now back to Los Angeles.

It was time for some clichés so we went to the Kodak Theatre and checked out the famous boulevard with all the crazy tourists. Then we drove up Mullholland Drive and made a stop at the Runyon Canyon Park that you might know from all those nice magazines like Intouch, Life&Style etc. Sevda is sure we passed Moby. ;-) The ride down was awesome and almost makes us want to stay here. We will see! Tomorrow a storm will strike Los Angeles so we head for Las Vegas early in the morning.

Today we went downtown Los Angeles and visited the Upper Playground Store/Gallery as well as the Last Laugh Store by Estevan Oriol. It was fun to see all those familiar things I worked with for years. Just right outside the Fashion District we had a great breakfast. I guess the coffee decoration is an art of itself! Even though LA seems like a rough place, the flava is incredible. After that we went back to Hollywood where we stopped at Fairfax Avenue with all the streetwear shops and the brand’s flagship-stores. This place really is a mecca for me regarding stuff to buy. All those fine t-shirts make me wanna go nuts. Sevda does not find anything but lipstick and nail-polish at Sephora, what a surprise! ;-)

Yesterday we went back to Venice beach to catch some more of the great vibe over there. This is one of the skate-spots that I have always wanted to visit. Too bad I haven’t touched my board since a few years back. And hell yeah, now we know where the architects of Central Park on Sankt Pauli in Hamburg got their inspiration from! The hills are just the same as the waves and you got your palm to sit under. The kind of people are the same! ;-) Check our pics from last year here. Just realized in that old post that we always complain over cold winters. Maybe it’s time to move to a warmer place?

Shopping in L.A. is not so my thing. I don’t know why, but I didn’t find anything. Ok, that’s not really true because we we were at “Opening Ceremony“, but THAT’s a different story! Believe me, just go in if you have a golden credit card. I fell in love with close to everything. A nice shop that is more like an apartment. In every room another concept. SOOOO nice! Melrose Ave was more la la. A lot of vintage stores but totally overpriced. “Urban Outfitters” has a much better selection in Hamburg. We found a lot of the well known streetcar shops like “Stüssy” and “UNDFTD“. I found some sneakers that I liked. And yes, finally we went to “Fatbeats“. At the end there was a big burger waiting for Philipp at Norman’s. He got it for being so patient at “Opening Ceremony” and hell yeah, it was a big one! ;)

Yesterday it was time to take the Highway 1 up north and check out Malibu. The beach was great and the houses were awesome. If you find the paparazzi in one of the photos you get a big applause. There was this one guy on the beach checking out the shells and this crazy paparazzi followed every one of his footsteps. I think if I was in his position, I’d be the last person to keep calm. Sevda is absolutely sure that Kate Moss and her dog crossed our way on the beach, I am not… Later we had a great dinner at Colada’s Thai Cuisine that reminded us of our trip to Asia a few years ago. Great day!

JETLAG!!! The first night we were just sitting on the parking ground and had a couple of drinks. Nice!

It is colder than I expected, but who cares! So nice just to hang around and talk to strangers. Drinking Corona in our Mexican area. Everyone is really nice and not that american. Strange! Because if you asked me before, I thought L.A. would be really superficial. Haven’t seen this typical blond “supertit” woman jet.

Today was our first day in sunny California. We had a great breakfast at Starbucks and then took of to Venice beach. The place is beautiful and full of funny people. Of course all the heads on medical marihuana recognized my cherry tee by Parra. We also met a Möwe by Cleptomanicx, small world even here. Always good to bring Toast and Zitrone on a trip! So many impressions. Here are just a few…

Just arrived in LAX a few hours ago, picked up our rental-car and checked in at hour hotel just 5 miles away from the airport in the heart of Inglewood. A really nice place with great flava, almost a bit like on “My Name is Earl”. Drove around to get some stuff to drink and used the possibility to do some late night sightseeing. Drove down south-east, crossed Crenshaw and got closer to Watts as someone nearly got shot right infront of our car. We thought it was about that time to get back to the hotel. That showed us that our hotel is not as ghetto as we thought in the beginning so now we enjoy a cold beer by the pool ready to get that sleep we deserve! We have been up and running for 28 hours. Good Night!
