After a hard day producing we dressed up a bit for dinner on the rooftop of our hotel. The guy in the background is our producer who was fun to be with.
PS: Bad hair day ;)…

One day at work. I’m working as a creative director/photographer for a photo full service agency and we had a shooting in L.A. . It was cold as hell but we were totally happy with the results.

I had some crazy days in L.A. We just dropped out the plane and started to work immediately. It’s still nice to escape for a couple of days though.…

Ice Cube being a major influence to myself from a musical perspective, driving around LA being one of my favorite cities and sharing his very own perspective on the Eames definitely makes this video a favorite too. But also from the strategic and conceptual point of view this a great way to use Cube as an authentic medium to present a heritage but still contemporary milestone of LA like the Eames couple, uniting the present, past and future. Feel free to visit the Pacific Standard Time Project for more info about the project itself.

L.A. is one of the most influential cities in world to us. No wonder! It’s the birthplace of too many things and it doesn’t matter if we are talking about music, lifestyle or sports. All the huge youth movements like Skatebording, Punk Rock, Flower Power,…. grew influential in L.A.. Another great fact are the different climate zones on such a small area. If you stand at Venice Beach you see the beach on the one and huge montains with snow tops on the other side. Directly after the montains you have the dessert. A lot people ask us if we could stand the obsession with beauty. I have to say that in most of the cases it is just living healthy. You are outside doing sports, taking care about yourself since the sun is shining all of the time. I saw more relaxed sporty people than everyone would expect. No blond big titty girls! ;)

It was the first time that I entered an “Anthropologie” and I was surprised that I liked the store itself more than “Freepeople Store“. I totally love the Freepeople catalogs and picture material. But Anthropologie inspires me even more. Both belong to Urbn like “Urban Outfitters” does. All three have nearly the same concepts which different target groups. The Anthropologie target group is a bit older and more sophisticated then the others. Like Urban Outfitters and Freepeople, they got some nice shoes in their range!…

Los Angeles lived up to its reputation as we walked around between Santa Monita and Venice. From the distance we saw a huge white tent at the beach sidewalk and we where wondering what was going on. We passed the Independent Spirit Awards and a bunch of paparazzi and fans stood there, waiting for the celebrities. While we stood there Marc Ruffalo (Nomine-The kids are alright), Trever Donovan (90210) and Gillian Jacobs (The Box) came by. The crazy point was, the woman (a fan) in front of me knew really everything about them. The actors came over to us just because of her shouting since they already knew her. Really impressive was the fact how much time everything takes. While we stood there nearly 30 minutes, only 3 celebrities arrived. Unfortunately it was too cold and too windy to stand there any longer.

It’s nearly impossible not to wear sandals this year. You see them everywhere. I chose these from “Forever21“. They are not that special but that’s good since I needed a pair of more regular shoes. I pimped them a bit with the socks. You can’t imagine how often someone said something about this combination. ;)…

Being back feels a bit like this photo that we did at Echo Park. We had a great time in L.A.. It was really inspiring and we are coming back. That’s for sure.…

The nailpolish god must be living in the states. Nice nailpolish everywhere and for a nailpolish freak like me it is hard to resist. ;) As I passed those colors from Essie, Sew Psyched and Sand Tropez, there was no way around. We will see how many more colors will find the way back to Hamburg.…

It’s pretty cold in L.A. for this time of the year. BUT who cares ;) Everything is better than the weather back in Hamburg.
