Last year Katrin Weber opened up her store and studio “Auntie Pop” in St. Pauli, Hamburg. At that time she designed and produced her line just for the ladies. For this year she also comes with a mens line which called “Ethel Vaughn“. In my opion both lines are influenced by the rough but beautiful area of St. Pauli. The cuts are clean but you will find a little twist in every item. My personal favorite is this mens shirt. I just like it. Katrin also offers a nice selcetion of Vans and also some great pieces of accessories from designer “Klara Kadlecova“. And if you could see my nails at the moment you’d scream. ;) I tried all the “Uslu Airlines colors” that she is offering at once. ;) So if you like real handmade and with love designed, great looking fashion items, you should definitely have a look at her “Auntie Pop Store“.

A few times a year, the Mädelsflohmarkt (girls fleamarket) opens it’s doors. On saturday at Haus III & 70 a huge bunch of girls were waiting for great vintage founds. After waiting in the long line I was also digging as wild as the others. ;) See the pictures of the last fleamarket as well.

For the launch of the “YBDPT STUDIO x Sperry Top-Side” of the SS2011 – Band of Outsiders collection both invited 60 people from a creative and influence surrounding for an exclusive dinner to introduce them to the “public”. “Sperry” has been producing these typical boat shoes since 1935. They come with a really even and soft sole, historically not to damage the boat. For SS2011 they are coming with the “Band of Outsiders” collection that will be exclusively available at the YBDPT STUDIO.
We had a really great evening. The audience was mixed with people from different areas. Press, Dj’s, designers, musicians, club and shopowners….. The seating order was a bit different. We mostly did sit next to someone we didn’t know that well before, so great conversations came up. Philipp and I loved the idea. In the end, after a great meal, I changed my yellow Sperry with “Hadnet (MTV)” and was a bit jealous about the blue ones of “Robert (Highsnobiety)”
Today YBDPT STUDIO will celebrate the shoe launch in their store as well. You better don’t miss it. ;) All the details on

Hamburg is a city that relying on a lot of traditions. People here like to wear blue suits and pearl necklaces with matching earrings. Sometimes it suxxx, and sometimes it really nice to take a brake while things around us change with an extreme pace. Even Hamburg changes it’s face too fast at the moment. On every corner in my district, Hamburg is losing it’s old face that it is really famous for. So it’s nice to see the last hat maker “Lars Küntzel” is working together with “Yeahboy” and Uwe Jens Bermeintiger (model in photos), the co-founder of the nude and art magazine “Nude Paper“. Lars Küntzel is doing this typical hanseatic hats, blue and maritime, most worn by the older nordish generation.
As I grew up, I was totally fascinated by those hats. They broadcast a great authority to me. So it’s nice to see how people combine traditional old Hamburg with a new influce movement to capture and embody the zeitgeist of a generation. The limited edition original hand-made hats of Lars Küntzel “Reepschläger” will be avaible tomorrow only at “Yeahboy“.
ps. In Sweden young people…

Nice first sunny and warm day in Hamburg yesterday. This skirt turns to be my favorite item this spring and the shirt I’m wearing is my favorite. Philipp and I passed the empty former shop of “Blood is the new Black” in L.A. by accident. If you are looking for a nice shirt have a look at their webshop. They collaborate with a lot of great artists.
(Skirt – H&M, Shirt -Blood is the new Black, Jacket – Urban Outfitters, Shoes – Vans)
