Online Wishlist
Sometimes it feels like “Opening Ceremony” is the grown up version of Urban Outfitters. If you get too old for UO, you will starting to hang around here. ;) Like me …. Since the new collection of “Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony” it’s really hard not to order. It’s a bit like grunge for the older ones. Kimberley Shooting
You might know “Kimberley of ANC” from a former shooting in summer. She is a really gorgeous girl and easy to work with. So we went down to a famous hairdresser salon here on St. Pauli. I love the Elvis interior. ;) It totally fits with some of the “H&M Spring Collection” items.

Pete Rock & CL Smooth | Hamburg
Unfortunately we missed the last show in Stockholm so it was good news to read that Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth would play just around the corner at Grünspan. Too bad we were only allowed to shoot during the first three tracks, so we couldn’t get Pete Rock behind the mic playing classics like TROY and Straighten It Out. Next time! ;-)

Konbini
At the iPpad magazine presentation I met Alexa Schulze who is supporting “Konbini” a french online TV platform from Paris. I’m not so into french things so I was wondering what “Konbini” is. I started to watch some videos and found my self laughing really hard. ;) The interviews are all really funny, you need to see yourself…. The productions are on a high level and the themes are great. You can find stuff from fashion over design, music to street culture. It’s bit sad that I can’t embed the video here on wordpress. You will need to click! Auf auf, es lohnt sich. Und ein wenig Kultur schadet ja nicht ;)

I like my style magazine
Before I started to blog myself, I was totaly fascinated by those user generated content platforms like “Lookbook“, “Chictopia” and “I like my stlye“. I was a kind of paralized because of all those nice pictures. Yeah of course, nowadays it’s quite common to see a lot of nice pictures. I am pretty sure a lot of people have been influenced by those platforms. I’m still a huge fan of it and can scroll and click hours through the tons of pictures. You see the newest trends in a raw, edgy and authentic way. Perhaps the whole hipster movement was born here. ;) I think it’s quite nice that one of these platforms is being released as a print magazine. “I like my style” gives a few pictures the chance to stand out and “live” a bit longer than the next 10 minutes before 1000 of other users uploaded their pictures. Call me old fashioned but I still love buying magazines in a printed version.

Pop-Up Magazine Store
I’m a bit surprised about how much is going on in Hamburg at the moment. On friday 10.12.2010 there will be a closing party for the “Pop-Up Magazine Store“, a project of the “Art-Lawyer“. It’s defintely something for magazine lovers! They are selling independent magazines from all over the world. Nice to have the opportunity to see some more magazines than the normal range at the international magazine stores. If you haven’t been there yet, friday will be your last chance.

“Asos” is one on the best sorted online shops in Europe at the moment. Next to designer wear you’ll find new inhouse brands like “Asos White“. It’s really dangerous for me since they got nice shipping offers for Germany as well. ;) I totally love their visual language of the campaign pictures. For me, the best ones at the moment. Isn’t that cute? I totaly love this picture of Jan Delay. On saturday we went with our weekend guests “Rachel” and Eric to the exhibition “Hamburger Gesichter” at the “Vicious Gallery“. “Thomas Koch” illustrated Hamburg faces for a benifit project. If you need to see more illustration you need to go to the next event. You can bet on the illustrations of Fatih Akin, Jan Delay, Udo Lindenberg, Das Bo, Cosma Shiva Hagen on the december 10th 2010 at the Terrace Hill. All the proceeds from the auction are going the e MUMS LOVE e.V. in Ghana und Strassenkids e.V. And extra plus: Jochen Distelmeyer (Blumfeld) will play unplugged!!! More photos after the jump.

If your press-text says that you are influenced by “My bloody Valentine” you definitely got my attention for a while and I will starting googling. “Salem” from Chicago is one of those bands that played in Hamburg at Mondial yesterday. It’s really true, just take a minute and listen a bit to “My bloody Valentine“. If you don’t know Salem yet, give it a try. I heard to many different music genre titles this weekend that I have never heard before. “Chill wave”, drag and a bunch more that I had never heard before. For me, it emo-core at it’s best! Congrats Anna!
One of our friends, blogger colleague and designer “Anna Wegelin” aka “Das Lachsbrötchen” had her final examination yesterday. So Katha, Philipp and I went their to see her great collection for next year. I’m sorry to says that you have to wait until next year to see it. It’s really colorful and totaly Anna like. Meanwhile you should keep an eye on Philipp Reining who is a part of “Fashion & Fame” at “Pro7″ that will start in january! Great to have so talented people in town! The Iconist – iPad Magazine
Yesterday for the lauch of the 2nd edition of the iPad Magazine of the “Iconist” the team invited to a little meet and greet in the Hamburg harbour. The “Iconist” belongs to one of the biggest publishers in Germany, Axel Springer. So of course I was courious to see what they are working on. It was all about an electronic version of the Icon which is the inlay style magazine of the WELT am SONNTAG. I like the idea of an iPad magazine. If you travel a lot, you always see the Kindle or the iPad. People are using those eletronic devices and usage grows day by day. That’s no rumor no more. In Germany you don’t see it that often yet which is a bit sad though. It’s really positive that a big pubisher like Axel Springer is doing an iPad mag. I like the content and layout. It’s nice to see that someone is trying to work something out. It’s a really young medium, so it’s still in it’s first steps but I have to say that I did expect a bit more digital content like video and various…

Stolen Girlfriends Club AW2011
There are a few lookbook that I’m really waiting for each season. One of them is the “Stolen Girlfriends Club” from New Zealand. Autum / Winter 2011 is all about Last Night’s Party. A “Stolen Girlfriends Club” girl is never too overdressed, always edgy and a bit rock’n'roll. It’s a girls who rocks the party looking fantastic while she is doing it. I totaly see a girl like “Rumi of Fashiontoast” when I look at the collection. The fake fur items are a bit california vintage influenced. You totally feel the 60′s and 70′s party wildtimes in it and that can’t be wrong… LOVE! More after the jump.

Ting Tings & American Apparel
I have no idea about what is going on in Hamburg. Events on every corner. Yesterday we first joined the Family and Friends Sale with drinks, music and fingerfood at “American Apparel“. And of course we where too late for the “Myspace Secret Show” of the “Ting Tings“. Five minutes before the show started we arrived…. The location was totally packed and we were just happy to get in. Why choose the easy way if you can have a exiting way to get in. ;) The show was quite nice and they played a lot of the new songs. I like that the new sound in general is full of 80′s sounds and a bit more grown up. More photos after the jump.

Kele Okereke – Pop Mondial
Nope, we are not turning our blog into a music related blog. ;) But Hamburg is known for a really good music scene and at the moment there are a lot of good concerts. Perhaps the team around “Pop Mondial” and “Death by Pop” got something to do with that. They influence the whole city with their good taste and golden finger for bookings. Last week “Theophilus London” this week “Kele Okereke” known from “Bloc Party” and on saturday emo rapper “Casper“. If you don’t wanna miss a good event, you should definitely bookmark their dates page.

If you are from Germany you might know this band. ;) I think I don’t need to introduce them. I’m really not a fan but still impressed about the path they walked. My first experience with them was round about 20 years ago on a small hiphop jam in Osnabrück. It was in the front of 50 people that hated them, because they weren’t “real hiphop”. (whatever that should be….) A few months later everything changed. The boys with the Triple 5 Soul jelly bag cap and the Cross Color Jackets became really famous. I’m pretty sure that nearly everyone can tell a story about the first experience with them. Whenever I hear the song about the seaside, I always have to think about my sister since we grew up close to the sea. She was sitting there and listing to a song of them, really loud. She listened to it over and over again which was totally annoying… Yesterday I liked it though because of my and the collective memory of the crowd. More photos after the jump.

Weekday x Eley Kishimoto
Perhaps the most interessing thing about “Weekday” are the collaborations at the moment. With the last one with the “Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp” they stole my heart and I adopted a blouse and a nacklace and gave them a good home. This time the couple of “Eley Kishimoto” will join “Weekday” on December 3rd. “Eley Kishimoto” are from London and produced a really colour- and playful collection for both men and woman. The whole collection is influenced by their own collection and you totally see their handwriting. I think it will be the most wearable collabo for “Weekday” which isn’t that bad if I look at the items. They are still edgy and different.
