Backyard office – Shooting with Kat

So we did shoot again. It just us: Philipp, Julia, the model and I. Backyards, parks, beaches, whatever. This is the first part of the shoot with Kat. Really talented, gorgeous teint, not 14 and her 3rd shooting. We loved her for her talent but also for her really kind personality.

If you are a genius when it comes to coloring photographs, please drop me an email (su (a) youneak.de). I have those great pictures and want the best retouch for it. At the moment I’m not that happy with the colorway. I have a specific color in mind but I don’t know how to do it. Please help ;)
More pictures are coming pretty soon.

UO – Around The World Fall 2011 Collection launch

At first it seemed to be the same situation like on every fashion event. But it was a bit different on the Urban Outfitters – Around the World Designer launch event.

You had to be 21 and show your ID to get a beer. ;-) Ok, for US people that really common and that was perhaps the reason why it seemed like the main crowd was not that young. I guess the main difference was that we were never standing alone. Nice that people just stop by, say hello, chat for a while and are just friendly.

While the Fashion Art NYC artist section was constantly full and surprisingly drawing the people quickly, we had a first view on the upcoming season. I’m kind of jealous that they next to Carin Wester, Sessun, Minimarket, WoodWood also offer some brands from Australia.

I love Stolen Girlsfriends Club and Shakuhachi. Would be great to see it here more often.

New York Impressions Part II

Some more impressions of a city that is changing its face pretty fast. On every corner you can feel that the people started to take care and getting aware of the need to change. You see eco friendly supermarkets more then regular ones, hybrid cars, really light plastic bottles, carsharing, urban organic gardening, rooftop bees and not that many fast food places. The funniest stuff that we found was a refill counter for beerbottles ;)

Of course NYC is not the states, but they are the trend motor for a lot of influential movements and great ideas. Like the peoeple were we stayed. They had this nice yoga place but on the other hand they are open for new things. In example, they tried the new creditcard system on the iPad and handle all their customer stuff with the device. Check out the Mashable article for more.

Europeans tend to think: “Oh the States are the huge bad guy not willing to change.” But whenever we are there I totally think the opposite. Sometimes it feels like especially Germans tend to hate every innovation. ;) We saw so many innovations in NYC and it would be nice to feel the …

Models off duty – NYC

Those models rocked. Sometimes the cast decides if it’s a good show or not. In NYC it seems to be impossible to have a bad cast ;) I totally loved the Michael Kors hair.

Goodyoga = Goodhome

Like I already wrote, we found a really nice place to stay. After a bit of research we decided to stay in NYC via “airbnb” for the first time. Airbnb is a platform for private people offering a room at a certain rate. Kind of a mix of couchsurfing and old fashioned bed&breakfast. When we saw the picture of Flannery & Ray we immediately decided to ask them for a free room because they looked so sympathetic at first sight.

Of course their rooms looked good too on the pictures. Flannery & Ray have this yoga place in Greenpoint called “goodyoga“.

We are always invited to do yoga for free. But to be honest, we never did because we were far too lazy. ;) But it looked really good though. They focus mainly on Ashtanga but offer other variation and meditation as well. Check the goodyoga website for more information.

Anyway, we lived right to the waterside and had a great view out of our bed. The sykline of Manhatten including the Empire State Building were the first things that we saw in the morning. Also we had access to a great rooftop. I guess we …

9 Streetstyles from New York Fashion Week

Some random streetstyle impressions in front of the NYC Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center. A fun little fact on the side: During fashion week in Stockholm and Berlin everyone knows that there is something big going on in town and branding everywhere. In New York no one knows, not even just around the corner. That’s definitely a sign for a lively city. ;-)
