Drykorn gift for my best friend

Like the “Janes” I received a package with a “Drykorn Chino” for my best friend. I chose blue because I know that’s her favorite color. I also got the shirt for me but I decided to give both items to her because it’s a really nice combination. Nice little idea and I hope you gonna like it too! ;)…

Shop till you drop

There is nothing better than the summer sale time, the only problem I face every year as a very impatient girl, that just before the sale actually arrives to the stores, I am already exceeded my budget. Next year, I am promising to myself wait until the sale and shop till I drop. Anyways, I made a small list of the items, I wouldn’t mind having in my closet right now.

Although, I was wondering another day about the sale strategy – really a good marketing tool to persuasive us, consumer, do rash decisions, right? We get adrenaline flow, which washes away any rational thought: “omg, it’s on sale, I should definitely get this, it’s only half price and tomorrow it won’t be in the store any longer”. We end up forgetting the sale items somewhere int he closet and spending more money than ever. Nevertheless, good business for the companies, indeed.

Hey that’s my bike

Maybe you followed my huge journey to find the right bike. It was hard to choose but in the end I decided to order a single speed bike from “Indiebikes” from Cologne, Germany. I’m really happy with the result of the colorway, since you are able to combine everything on your own. But the best about my new bike is that a distance of 7 kilometers to work is no problem anymore. Like!

T-Shirts are Stories

Ever since I started skateboarding in the early 90′s I have been a big fan of all kind of t-shirts, collected a few & worn out many. They symbolize happenings. They are like postcards you bring to keep up the spirit of certain times, are symbols for what you stand for. This upcoming documentary seems to put all the different aspects of the cult in a great frame, showing the diversity (of cultures) it is made of. More info on the Canal+ page.

Scandinavian girls do it better

Here is the list of my favorite scandinavian bloggers. Somehow scandinavian girls do it better. Especially, swedish girls, I am always jealous for their mini skirts, perfect brown and long legs in the summer time.

In the blogosphere there are different regions around the world who are leading the blogging world. The way I see it, scandinavian bloggers are the most professional content and picture wise, but somehow you can see their scandinavian signature all over the blog. I can’t quite describe what is it so special about them? Maybe, minimalistic styling, blond hair, white smile or relaxed/self-confident personalities? You name it!

Also, I can find different blogging signatures in different regions. Bloggers from Netherlands have a very similar blogging style and it
continues – France, Spain, Germany etc.

But, I do think, that swedish girls are leading the blogging industry and inspiring us the most, at least in my head.

My everyday “look pretty” must products

These are my favorite beauty products I can’t live without every single day. Although, I am not really the type of girl who is into make – up, I love to find some basic products and stick to it. Quite the opposite to fashion, right?

I remember since I was little girl I used to watch my older cousin applying her make-up carefully and with so much passion! I was really jealous, that I couldn’t be that much creative and patient with the beauty products. At the moment, I actually appreciate my natural everyday look. Somehow, the combination of perfect make-up, fashionable outfit would be too polished and I would feel stupid. In general, then it comes to make up – less is more!

My favorite product for the moment is Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel, it makes your skin to glow(I use it under my foundation)! The last time I was so obsessed with the single product, it’s when I found Kerastase’s serum for split ends and I have been using it for the past 3 years until the brand released a new product – Kerastase elixir ultime.

For mascara I use Diorshow, basically, because I never found a …

WARRIORS OF RADNESS SS 2011

I just received a little package from New York last week and I was glad to see what was in it, a nice & loud muscle pant from Warriors of Radness. Representing your typical surf style, they got a wide range of casual beachwear really reminding me of the early 80′s brands like Stüssy etc. I think they have a great picture language. Regarding the collection especially those photo print t-shirts got my attention (what a surprise ;-)). Another diamond of course is the collabo with Opening Ceremony.
Looking forward to see some more stuff from Warriors of Radness, spreading some California Love and making me want to go back to LA real soon.

Triumph award

Triumph is a national and international event, where young designers are presenting their creative underwear pieces designed specially for the competition. The International Grand Finale of the Triumph Awards will be happening in Berlin during this Fashion Week.

Trine Engebretsen is a danish finalist, who is lucky enough to have an opportunity go to the Grand Finale in Berlin. Actually, she is a last year design student at my school, back home. I am wishing her all the best – fingers crossed for you Trine!

But the point is, it’s a really smart brand strategy of Triumph underwear company to organize such an event. Of course, it takes lots of man power and other resources to arrange such a big international event, but in the end – totally worth it. It is positioning the company as innovative, inspiring, creative, in a way professional and social responsible. Marketers & branders are always searching for effective tools to interact with their target segment and change or keep the perception of the their own brand in consumer’s mind. These type of events are saying – “we don’t do what we do just for the profits, we do it, because it feels great” – …

Another project coming from the guys that brought you “Influencers“, The Pursuit of (Cool). A great perspective on what makes a personality, how it has changed over time and where it could head. Scrambled Eggs & Fashion

Opening Ceremony is one of that brands that have an incredible potential and base. Their design, clothing and collaboration partners just all transport this special and unique style. Still, it is all focused around the products. With their new OCTV they go beyond the product, entering and expanding into a real life section that transports the brand really well without loosing the very special brand identity. They just got themselves another reason to talk and I love it. (And not just because I’m hungry ;-))

H&M Blogger workshop output II

For the second outfit we chose a lightened background. The link to the theme “Indian meets Jeans” was the poncho. We liked the golden accessories because it gives the outfit the special modern edge that we were looking for. I think it’s nice way to break the theme.
We felt that all the other accessories wouldn’t fit at this stage.

We wanted to make a grid and break it again in a way that the whole look would still fit togehter. I just love the look.
I love the leather shorts. For me it is one of the keyitems for the next season. What I love about the jeans shirt is the way we put up the collar. I’m not sure if I would wear it like this in a daily way, but for the picture it looks perfect to me.
Thank you Bente for being such a great model.

H&M Blogger workshop output

Philipp and I joined a group with Anjelica and Josie. The task was to shoot pictures with a specific theme and a model. Our group was to shoot “Indian meets Jeans” which was kind of nice.

We decided to show the diversity of styles while styling the model. From the beginning it was important to us that our model shouldn’t look like this usual sterotype of H&M. We wanted to be a bit more modern.

To me it is the bigger challenge to create something that doesn’t look like H&M but still being young and modern.

So we picked picked this jumpsuit and the jeansshirt from the Fall 2011 Collection. Both items aren’t that breath taking to me but in the combination they simply are amazing. There is just this little hint about the theme, which I really like.

It is not that obvious and modern at the same time. Of course we had the chance the pick feathers, necklaces and bracelets that would have fit perfectly. But we felt that we could be simpler and reduce the whole look a bit.

Hair & makeup was simple and nude, because it fits best for our model and the …

JEFFREY CAMPBELL FALL 2011 LOOKBOOK TEASER

Ok ok ok, it is so sure that we will all end up in wearing the 70′s stuff again. And you know what? I love it! 10 years BoConcept – Showroom Opening Event

For a while I have really often found myself surfing on interior design blogs and websites like “The Selby“. I would like to invest some time in furnishing our appartment a bit more in the near future. So it was such a great opportunity to visit the “BoConcept White-Showroom” to get some inspiration. The showroom was built for the 10th birthday of the danish BoConcept and will be in the Hafencity for 10 weeks. BoConcept designs modern furniture for urban-minded shoppers. Philipp and I both liked the wooden chair and the colorful lamp but we were wondering if the lamp would get on your nerves after the while. Another favorite was the pixel cup. It would fit really great into our apartment.

I already made a post about my bff, Viktorija – Agne Mackeviciute, who is obviously a brilliant jewelry designer, but I really wanted to share some extra pictures from the last shooting. This time, she concentrated on developing a jewelry collection for men, which I think is a very clever idea.

Top 5 – All about shoes

I thought it would be fun to have a new section called “Top 5″. It will be filled with nice, great looking items from one product group or around one theme. So here we go. Of course the first one will be shoes! ;) There we have the Won Hundreads that were discussed too often recently and the Acne moccasin with the colors splashes. I tried them on when we were in Stockholm but €300 for moccasins? No way. But at least they should be on my Top 5 list. What do you think? Are €300 too much for moccasins? I think the Opening Ceremony Platforms are a better investment.

Animal prints

I love this blouse, the minute I saw it, I thought to myself – “very Alexa Chung!” Don’t you agree? Anyways, not exactly my style, a bit too feminine and romantic, but I guess, it’s one of those smart blouses you can keep forever in the closet.

Also, it doesn’t take a lot to see the similarity between the Miu Miu prints that have been splashed all over the runways in 2010 spring. Probably, animal prints aren’t that much on trend right now, but I predict wonderful and useful future for this item anyway.
