Ida Sjöstedt Lookbook SS 2011

To be honest, my love for swedish fashion was almost over. After our trip to L.A. I felt like I had to put every one of those garments away. In my eyes everything swedish was just hanging in a way. Yeah of course in a nice way, but I was tired of it. At the same time I wasn’t that informed anymore. It became really quiet in the swedish blogger scene and seemed like that lot of blogger stopped blogging. So I checked the websites of some swedish designers. Of course I was on the website of “Ida Sjöstedt“. After she had been to the Berlin Fashion Week, she had a little hype about her work. I was amazed about the her spring lookbook. Gorgeous dresses with great shapes and amazing fabrics. On the runway pictures I wasn’t that blown away but here in the lookbook pictures you see every detail and the golden coloring of the pictures is doing the rest. I love the spirit of it. All the pictures of the Ida Sjöstedt lookbook.

Dana Lee New York Lookbook

To be honest, I didn’t know Dana Lee before I read about her current collection on Slam-X-Hype. I really like the simplistic style in combination with the heritage touch and the look of the pictures. I’m not really sure about if it’s the 90′s, 80′s or 70′s that I feel here. A kind of soulglow. Any idea on where to get her stuff in Europe?

Life In A Day – A 24h Project Film

Life in a Day, a project by film director Ridley Scott. It must have been almost a year ago when he in cooperation with Youtube announced the project. Users from allover the world were asked to document their thoughts, habits, emotions, … during 24 hours. The “best” would be edited in a user generated documentary, produced and directed by Ridley Scott. The trailer looks really promising and should give an interesting perspective on life in general. Ultra local from a global perspective.

Streetstyles overview

I’m sorry to say that I have to pause the streetstyles for a while, but I have to much to do at the moment. Philipp is backing me up a bit and will also write a bit more about what boys like. ;) So here is just a little overview about the latest streetstyles. Thank you to everyone that I met on the street. And of course: If I see someone who is dressed really well and have a camera with me, I will take a picture. ;) Meanwhile, have a look at all styles here.

Online Wishlist Topshop

This week my wishlist is coming colorwise and from “Topshop“. Keycolor of this season is of course white, but I also like red faded and pale pink. Especially when it comes with a big floral patterns as this great combo. A fringe bag is also a must have and Boho is back as you can see. ;)

Good Hood Men’s Lookbook

Nowadays I find it really obligatory for stores to produce a lookbook that takes all the brands they offer to transform them into something unique, the stores very own style and brand. The way Good Hood Store does it, sets the benchmark for the whole category. Simplicity & Style!

Auntie Pop Re-Opening & Collection Review

Last year Katrin Weber opened up her store and studio “Auntie Pop” in St. Pauli, Hamburg. At that time she designed and produced her line just for the ladies. For this year she also comes with a mens line which called “Ethel Vaughn“. In my opion both lines are influenced by the rough but beautiful area of St. Pauli. The cuts are clean but you will find a little twist in every item. My personal favorite is this mens shirt. I just like it. Katrin also offers a nice selcetion of Vans and also some great pieces of accessories from designer “Klara Kadlecova“. And if you could see my nails at the moment you’d scream. ;) I tried all the “Uslu Airlines colors” that she is offering at once. ;) So if you like real handmade and with love designed, great looking fashion items, you should definitely have a look at her “Auntie Pop Store“.

Republic Bike x Urban Outfitters

Since last my journey to NYC last year I’m in love with a bike. It’s name is “Republic Bike” and it’s a fixie. I saw it at “Urban Outfitters” before I found out that you can design our own bike via a 3D online tool. The price is heartbeaking with $399 but the only problem is: they don’t ship it to Germany. My heart is bleading! Schnief!

Thu Thu

Sometimes fashion in Germany surprises me. Like “Thu Thu” by designer Thuy Duong Nguyen from Bischofswerda. Bischofswerda is pretty close to Dresden, in the eastern part of Germany. I’m really wondering were the in Vietnam raised young designer is getting her inspiration from. Since SS 2009 she has been designing great stuff but this one is extraordinary. Wild pattern mixes, different fabrics and a cosmopolitan style. Love it.

Hayashi Frankfurt

During my time in Frankfurt I had some time to spend between interview and H&M Home Opening Event. So Jessie showed me where to find Hayashi. Hayashi is run by Kerstin who is also blogging for the Les Mads network. She writes the blog “La Gamine” and posts her daily outfits and gives a deeper insight about what Hayashi is all about. So both the shop and her blog are well sorted with a nice mix of shoes, fashion and accessories. On two floors you will find brands like Acne, Lala Berlin, Helmut Lang, Sabrina Dehoff, Stine Goya and many more. If you have the chance, make a stop instore and meet her cute dog Otto or visit Kerstin online at “La Gamine“.

Swimwear 2011

Every year the same hassle. Finding the right swimwear is a litte nightmare for every woman. How good that I have some favorites this year. One of them is pretty close to jumping into my shopping bag. The Weekday – Bless version comes in a nice quality and you are able to wear it in different ways. This year I like halter strapless tops and colorful prints as well.

H&M Home Opening Party Frankfurt

H&M Home opened its doors in Frankfurt yesterday. After opening six stores all over europe is was time to see how Germany would like the in-store concept. The special point about the home collections is that it’s just been available online until now. H&M home is built like a showroom. You are able to see every single item of the collection and build your individual shopping cart. It works a bit like a an interior designer would work I guess. You will find small magnets next to the product and collect them on a board/tablet. After the final choice you will get you stuff at the cashier.

It was fun to see how everone enjoyed the concept. Celebrities like model Eva Padberg, VJ’s Palina and Patrice, actors like Alexandra Neldel or Jana Pallaske seemed to have a lot of fun while trying out the concept and reviewing the different themes of the collection. Also bloggers like Jessie (Les Mads), Katja (Bees and Ballons), Kerstin (La Gamine), Cailin (Birds of a feather ) and Camilla (Allet ohne Schminke) were invited. It’s was nice to spend some time with them.

Vans – Pass The Bucket

I just stumbled upon this video a few days ago and I am still stoked by the emotionality in it. With “Pass the Bucket“, Vans delivers a whole new perspective on the streetwear, skateboarding & lifestyle brand that it is. Instead of just focusing on the usual “hey, we are the coolest brand out there with the best riders”, this series gives the user a deeper meaning and insight of/in the characters of worship. Things can turn out different. Keep the faith, stand strong and keep in mind what’s the most important thing in life. Friends & family.
