Elin Kling X H&M

Elin Kling is the most well known blogger/fashion-editor in Sweden. With her blog “Style by Kling” she showed her really strong sense of style and love for scandinavian design. But she is way more than just a blogger, she is a fashion icon in sweden. After having lived in Stockholm I would say that every fashion interested person in Sweden knows her because of her huge media coverage and deep knowledge about it. No wonder that H&M picked her for the first collabo with a blogger. I’m not sure if I still would call her a “blogger” because of all the stuff that she does, but the collection looks fantastic. The silver suit and clutch are outstanding. The bad point is: it’s only available in Sweden :(
On her new website you will find “behind the scene” material and her new blog.

Les Mads – Bookrelease

Our last date for Berlin was the book release of “Les Mads – Modestrecke“. The store was totally packed and some of the great illustrations of the book where hanging around. Everyone was really exited to hear what Les Mads were to talk about in the panel. Les Mads are the most present bloggers in Germany and opened so many doors for the whole blogger scene over here. It’s great to see how they are doing their thing in their own way. I was surprise when I heard that they wrote a book about all the litte sidestory’s. It’s a great idea because the reading will give you a deeper insight about their experience. For me that’s one of the major differences between blogging and journalism. Blogging is all about how a person is seeing the stuff trough their own eyes, a subjective point of view. I think a lot of people will read this book just to understand how young people work. Another bunch of people will read this book because they are interested in the more detailed inside-stories and some will read it simply for the joy of reading it. But in the end it’s just …

Blogger Meeting Berlin

Right from the beginning when I planed my shedule for Berlin, one date was marked red in my calender. It was the blogger-meeting. More than 180 bloggers signed up via facebook which was a really interessting number to me. I don’t see myself as a typical blogger because, let say: I’m not in the typical age range. ;) The reason why I wanted to visit the meeting was to see how active the german scene is and who the other bloggers are that I don’t know. After searching for the right place a while, as expected we entered a cafe packed with young people. We took a seat and I started to talked to the person next to me. He wasn’t a blogger and just wanted to read a magazine. This situation was a bit typical for the meeting, because whenever I talked to someone it wasn’t a blogger. ;) But I recognized some faces that I know like “microphoneheart“, “Vanrolt” and of course “rahelitasway“. It was great not to know so many people since that means it’s a really young and active scene in germany that is growing and growing. Blogging became a …

Bright – Streetstyles

During the Fashion Week you will find the “Bright-Tradingshow” in Berlin as well. The Bright moved from Frankfurt to Berlin and is a skateboard and streetwear tradeshow. Brands like Burton, Carhartt, Cleptomanicx, Wemoto and Obey are showing their stuff there. We both think, it was nicer and more authentic in Frankfurt. For the brands though it does make more sense to be in Berlin where all the other trade- and fashion-shows are. It’s nice that during this week Berlin presents an even bigger mix of all styles and directions.

Collect Showroom Overview

At the Collect Showroom I also had the chance to the collections of some other designers, not just Odeur. My other favorites were Mikenke,Reality Studio and Howitzweissbach. All three labels are from Berlin but represent a different kind of design. From clean cuts and pale colors over edgy young design to colorful and loud stuff. If you got some spare time, have a look at the last lookbooks of all the labels. It’s deffently worth it! Here the list of all designers: Esther Perbandt, Franzius, Hien Le, Howitzweissbach, Julian Zigerli, Maiami, Mikenke, Mono.gramm, Odeur, Reality Studio and Tiedeken.

Berlin Fashion Week – Streetstyles

Traffic was our bigest enemy in Berlin. On the way from the Bread & Butter to the Diana Orving, Ida Sjöstedt and Camilla Norrback show we got stuck in the traffic again and arrived just the second the show was over. I had the change to take some streetstyles pictures though. Surprisingly I met a friend from Stockholm, which was really nice. And it was her birthday, so happy birthday again! Hope to see you soon!

Collect Showroom – Odeur

Last year at the Stockholm Fashion Week the “Odeur Show” was one of my favorites. The look of Odeur is dark but in a mystic way. At the same time it is really soft. I totally like the experimental look so I went to the Collect Showroom to see what’s going on with Odeur in AW 2011. I was good to see that they are still doing this great design. The scarf was totally my style. And I totaly appreciate that the key peaces were presented to me this nice way. ;) Thank you for modelling!

Dawid Tomaszewski Show

In Berlin it’s like this: If a politician has to get from A to B they close the whole road for a while until a huge convoy passes the street. Of course we were stuck in one of those. So totally too late we arrived at the Fashion Week tent for the “Dawid Tomaszewski Show“. We jumped in, took a seat and the show started almost immediately. Dawid Tomaszewski was showing, like all the other designer, AW 2011. So we saw some knitted pullovers with huge necks, nice evening dresses, a lot of feathers, transparent materials mixed with heavy fabrics and fur. I don’t know why everyone is using fur and why it is ok again. I was a bit like “ok, nice but not breathtaking and just right for the dinner, gala and party season in winter”. And then the the first model with an adorable feminine dress came out on the runway. One after another in long dresses with flowing materials in gorgeous colors. Wow! I was wondering a bit about the season, since it all looked a bit like summer. But who cares?! ;) Great dresses!
Ps: Why is nearly every designer doing strange things …

Berlin Fashion Week – Streetstyles

You see great styles everywhere at the Berlin Fashion Week. Of course some of the German bloggers like “Jessi – Les Mads“, “Katja – Bees and Ballons” & “Nike & Sarah – This is Jane Wayne” are around and show up for the shows. The japanese guy we met at the “Premium” told me the name of his brand but he said it really “japanese like” so I coudn’t understand it. Shame on me. :(

Jeff the Brotherhood – Hamburg

The idea of going to more concerts of bands that we don’t know totally works out. Yesterday “Jeff the Brotherhood” played at “Popmondial” and it was really nice to go there. In a great atmosphere the band from NASHVILLE, Tennessee played a great set. To me, it sounds a bit like “Pavement” who I totally like. So no wonder that this band surprised me. Go to their concerts if they are around. They are on tour in Europe, so catch them if you can. Dates and more pictures after the jump.…

Phunk Studio

For a long long time now I’ve been a huge fan of the works of “Phunk Studio” an art and design collective from Singapore. They work with brands like Nike, Nokia, MTV, Daimler Chrysler, Comme des Garcon, Levis, Tiger Beer and Salem, Habitat,….. and they are one of the most well known visual artists in asia. Their work is so stunning, inspiring and colorful. Whenever I see such nice arts and installations, I ask myself, why isn’t that possible to have nice artist installations and art in public spaces in Germany? You should really visit their website and add them on Facebook. I can’t find enough words for their fantastic work.
