Hat Love Part III

It’s not: “I stole my sister’s boyfriend. It was all whirlwind, heat, and flash. Within a week we killed my parents and hit the road…” (Sonic Youth)
Today it’s actually more like: I stole my boysfriends hat. It was all cosy, heat, and flash. ;) The best thing to wear for a sunday’s walk with the dog. More photos after the jump.…

Online Wishlist XXXXX

One of Philipps favorite online stores is “Goodhood” from London. They have a small really well selected range of woman stuff aswell. I love every single item. I’m still in love with Pendleton. Regarding the shop itself, I have to say it is one of the best designed online stores.

Around the corner – Musswessels

There was this nice poster which was following me everywhere. No information on what it is, just the name “Musswessels” on it and an address just around my corner. It took a while, but after a few weeks I passed the store. I was really surprised because I was expecting something else than a really good selected vintage store. From shoes to coats you find everything in a 1+ condition. The selection also includes also mens. If you are a vintage head you need to see the store.

Leslie Shooting

We love shooting with Leslie, so we asked her again if she wanted join us. She is always on time, ambitious, funny and nice to hang around with. Sometimes people are wondering who does what, when we are shooting. I, Sevda, do the styling, hair and make-up and take the pictures. Philipp does the technique stuff, light and helps with his good taste. When it comes to concert-pictures, he is the man.
So this one was teamwork of Philipp, Leslie and me.

Around the corner – Heliumcowboys

Not really around the corner, but not that far from us either one of the most important galleries in Hamburg is has their room. “Heliumcowboys” is showing stuff from “Jo Fischer” at the moment, a photographer who is influenced by Rock’n'Roll and urban life in general. He has a really good eye for transferring emotions and capturing them in his really nice photographies.

Around the corner – Auntie Pop

The area were we live in, St. Pauli, is famous for it’s nightlife, redlight, Penny Markt and the harbour of course. Beside those things, the district is changing it’s face. Sometimes in a bad way, but also in a good way on some corners. A lot of galleries and individual stores settle down. Just around our corner “Auntie Pop” opened a week ago. The owner of the store, Katrin runs her own collection and of course sells it in her store. But you will also find some nice accessoires, magazines of some other designers like “Klara Kadlecova“, “Vanessa Baron”, “Sandra Schollmeyer” and “Elternhaus“. You should definitely visit “Auntie Pop” if you are around.

Swedish Hasbeens AW 2010

How to wear “Swedish Hasbeens” in winter? First option: You wear the boots. Second option: You wear them with socks. Third option: You invite all your friends and have an indoor party! That’s a kind of swedish humor. ;) They know how to handle cold winter….. I like the idea that the bride is wearing white Hasbeens!

Bitching and Junkfood with UO

Bitching and Junkfood” is one of those labels that I have been following a long time now. The design duo from London started with a little vintage online store a few years ago. Perhaps you remember this wishlist ;) I fell in love with this unique look immediately. Nowadays they are doing a bit more grown-up things like the latest collabos with “Urban Outfitters“. Customized, hand crafted items, fringing, feathers, denim, …. I love this way of collabos. To me, it looks like a little trend to do collabos beween big players and really induvidualistic designers. Please more!
Avaible at “Bitching and Junkfood” or “Urban Outfitters“.

April77

A while ago, a french mag asked as for an interview and of course they wanted to know about our favorite french designer and french brand. Now we could say some really important big names but surprise, we didn’t. Ok, it’s not really a surprise. ;) People who have been reading this blog for a while, know we are friends of small independent brands. So we said: “Aprill77“. We introduced them before in the post about the “Showroom Evening at Gallerie Keerup“. You ask yourself, why we like them so much? Because they dog really simple and nice stuff. Everything is minimalistic and they tgot so much care and love for the details. I love that every single piece comes with a single. Have a look at the studiosite aswell.

Hamburg Art

More and more small galleries and exibitions are popping up in Hamburg. Just around our corner more than 6 galleries opened the last 2 years. Here are some nice examples how nice Hamburg is growing.
The first pictures were taken at the “Yeahboy” exibition of the french photographer “Yves Drillet” and the secound pitures are at the “Raum linksrechts“. An artist from Cologne called “leBeat-André Kniepkamp” is showing his stuff.

Gumball 3000 – Eve

Red Carpet events are not the regular events that we are going to. Also, we are not really in car pimping and car racing. But anyway we went to the “Gumball 3000“. This was the reason: EVE! She is one of my alltime favorite rappers. Stuff like: Love Is Blind (featuring Faith Evans) and Who’s that Girls songs that I will love forever! Perhaps you also know her as an actor. “Barber Shop” and “Good Hair” are movies that you need to see, if you like her. Specially “Good Hair” from Chris Rock, a documentation about black womans hair. Really funny. But back again to the event. It was one of those events where you start talking to strangers in the restrooms and become good friends. ;) Eve was playing a couple of songs. It was really nice and we had a really good time with some old friends. A great location at the habour and some funny moments, a lot of VIP that I don’t know, since we lived abroad. Rock’n'Roll, Hamburg! Sorry for the bad pictures, I just smuggled a small camera with me. ;)

Lauren Manoogian

This is a little introducing to “Lauren Manoogian” from NY, of course from Williamsburg. Where else can you find stuff like this? I couldn’t find so much info about her, but I think it is not really necessary. Just look at her stuff. It is talking for itself. Great jewelry and nice accessories. Everything looks like that is made with love.

Asos – I blame Coco

I blame Coco” on the cover of the Asos Magazine. No wonder, she has a fxxxx great style! I love everything about her. She is Stings daughter, but I don’t know jet if that is a good or bad sign. ;) Perhaps good! Must be in her genes. A good sign is that “Robyn” did a song with her called “Caesar”. You can see the release concert of Cocos new album with Robyn in Stockholm at “Bambuser“. Video after the jump.…

Nina Shooting Part II

I have a really strange problem with black and white pictures. I love them, BUT for other peoples photos. When I’m doing it, I kind of miss the colors. ;) That’s the reason why you do not see it that often on our blog. For these pictures though, I think it works really well. It’s the secound part of the shooting with Nina Carlsson from “Anc“. We had not that much time, so we just went down to the habour which I always like.

This wishlist is about “Gargyle” from NYC. I’m in love with this for me so typical New York style. AND THE SHOES, they are from “New Kids”. I can’t find the website, because “googleing” for New Kid and shoes, you get 1000 results but not the right one. ;)

Weekday Collaboration

What I like about Weekday is that they doing collaborations with designers not that known, but really good. This time they are doing a collabo with designers who graduate from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. They picked Matthieu Thouvenot, Cédric Jacquemyn and Mariel Manuel to do some pieces. I like the stuff of Mariel Manuel, but I hope it’s not real fur! Perhaps I like the stuff because I like the pictures as well. ;) You will find the stuff in stores now.

Pictoplasma Hamburg

A little art and illustration for Hamburg. Yesterday the “Pictoplasma Conference” made a stop in Hamburg with a lot of speakers and some movies to bring us closer to character-design. With lectures and presentations from different artists like “Siggi Eggertsson” known for the Gnarls Barkley Cover, “Rilla Alexander of Rinzen” who just finished her first book and superhero “Akinori Oishi” from Japan, who was funny as hell. We got a nice overview of the scence at the moment. They are going on tour and you should really visit if it’s in your area. They will be in Munic, Dundee, NYC and Düsseldorf.
